Urban Biodiversity is a CIC social enterprise based in North Cornwall. It umbrellas several brands including;

Newquay Orchard, a 7 acre outdoor community space offering educational courses from those who don’t get on in main stream education, volunteer programmes, event space, co-working space, sauna, forest social and health and wellbeing programmes.

Grown vegetable Farm, a community market garden which grows and creates produce for weekly veg bags and local businesses.

Heart and Soul cafe, a 60 seat cafe which helps train young people and uses the seasonal vegetables grown by us to produce the food served.

I was initially bought in to help with both the strategy and delivery of the commercial offering within the company so they could pivot from relying on funding. My first year has seen a 30% growth in cafe revenue and a 70% growth in event revenue.

I have more recently jumped into an operations role working closely with the CEO to help hire and manage teams, build processes, prepare reports for the board and oversee the marketing.

During the past year I have implemented new processes within project management, built budget tools and strengthened relationships with external brands.
